Electrical Engineer

Support the power system studies at the core of our work — arc flash, short circuit, protective device coordination, and voltage drop — building and validating the models a licensed PE reviews and seals.
Responsibilities
- Build and validate power system models in SKM Power*Tools from field-collected data and one-line diagrams.
- Perform IEEE 1584 incident energy (arc flash) analysis and interpret the results for each work location.
- Run short circuit and protective device coordination studies, and evaluate voltage drop / load flow scenarios.
- Develop and check protective device setting recommendations that reduce incident energy while preserving coordination.
- Produce clear, well-documented study reports and updated one-line diagrams for PE review and seal.
- Coordinate with field surveyors to resolve data gaps and confirm equipment and device information.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of power distribution systems and protective devices.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584, and the IEEE 3000-series methods.
- Comfort with power system modeling software (SKM Power*Tools experience is a strong plus).
- Strong technical writing and attention to detail for audit-ready documentation.
- BS in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- EIT or PE a plus.
- Authorized to work in the US.
