What do our electrical design services cover?
We design power distribution for new construction, expansions, and equipment additions — service entrance through branch circuits. That covers load calculations, equipment sizing, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and the construction documents your contractor and the AHJ will ask for.
We also run arc flash, short circuit, and coordination studies, and that changes how we design. Device selection and settings get worked out with coordination and incident energy in mind up front, instead of a study flagging a problem after the gear has been bought and set.

For most permitted commercial and industrial work, yes. The threshold and the exemptions are set by state licensure law and the local building department, so a small tenant fit-out and a new service can land on opposite sides of the line. We confirm the requirement with the AHJ before design starts.
Drawings are sealed by a PE licensed in the state where the project is located. Tell us the project address early and we confirm licensure, and any firm registration requirement, before design starts rather than at submittal. If we cannot seal in your jurisdiction we say so on the first call.
Typically a one-line diagram, load calculations, panel schedules, power and lighting plans as the scope requires, equipment specifications, and details. Content is driven by what the AHJ reviews and what your contractor needs to build from. We confirm the list in the proposal.
Yes, and it usually shortens the schedule. Give us the equipment list, nameplate data, and any owner standards, and we work from those rather than starting with assumptions. Where the list has gaps we flag them early instead of designing around a guess.
Yes, and it is the better workflow. Designing with coordination and incident energy in mind means the arc flash study confirms what was intended instead of uncovering a problem that now requires new gear. The model built during design carries straight into the study.
AHJ comments and construction RFIs are part of the engagement, not an add-on line item. If a plan reviewer wants a calculation presented differently or questions a device selection, we answer it and revise the sealed set. Permit comments are normal and we treat responding to them as part of the job.
We review submittals and shop drawings against the design, answer field questions, and perform observation visits at agreed milestones. Substituted equipment gets checked against the ratings the design assumed, which is where most field problems start. Scope and visit count are set in the proposal so the fee is not open-ended.
It depends on scope: a single-service tenant fit-out moves much faster than a campus distribution redesign. Schedule is set to your permit and construction milestones at scoping, and the fixed-fee proposal includes the design timeline.
